Currently, we offer five books on cycads from particular regions. The first two books are on African Cycads, both written by Douglas Goode, a leading authority on the cycads of Africa, as well as the world's premier cycad artist.
The first book,
Speculations on the Encephalartos Species of Mozambique, is published in 2006. Written by Pedro Capela, it is based on years of research and travel to habitat sites. The author is a grower, agronomist and preservationist, and may be the most expert individual concerning the various Encephalartos species and forms found in that Mozambique.
The second book,
Cycads of Africa, was originally published in 1989. It features beautiful illustrations of nearly all African cycads known at the time.
The third book,
Cycads of Africa, Volume I, has just been published. It features numerous color photographs, and is the most complete treatment yet on African cycads. This 350 page book includes exquisite photographs of each species in habitat, including detailed information on growth habit, species physical features and conservation status.
The fourth regional book is the recently published
Cycads of Australia, by the renowned experts on Australian cycads, Ken Hill and Roy Osborne. It is the first complete treatment on the unique cycads from this country/continent.
The fifth regional book is the newly published
Cycads--with special reference to the southern African species,. This is a
Newly Translated English Edition of the book by Prof. Nat Grobbelaar.
