Encephalartos cerinus

Also known as the Waxen Cycad, Encephalartos cerinus is among the rarest of the South African cycads. It maintains a waxen coating on its leaves and cones, unlike any other species of Encephalartos. Described in 1989, only 2 small colonies of this species have ever been found. Unfortunately, these colonies no longer exist, the plants only currently found in botanical and private gardens.
