These items are in response to customers requests that we make available the same potting supplies that we use in our nursery, so here you have some of these supplies.
Also, certain shipments to other states and countries will require permits. We encourage you to email us at info@cycads.com if you have any questions on permits for your location.
We believe in the motto "reduce, re-use and recycle", so we re-use our pots in the nursery a limited number of times, and we hope you don't mind that the pots or flats you receive may be cleaned "recycled" ones, which have been washed and disinfected and are in "like new" condition, like the ones we re-use in the nursery.
9 Inch Band Pots (Liners) These are the perfect pot for planting sprouted seed and seedlings. They fit 25 to a "Tree Flat" (see photo above and the Tree Flat listing below), and so are also spacially efficient for growers.
Tree Flats Each One Holds 25 Band Pots These are the perfect holders for the 9-inch band pot we sell. They hold 25 band pots, and work efficiently in a nursery or greenhouse setting.
Tall One Gallon Pots These are ideal for larger cycad seedlings. The pot is taller and somewhat narrower than regular one gallon pots, perfect for encouraging a longer tap root, which many cycads like.
CITES Export Permit Non-Refundable Application FeeItems purchased (plants, seeds and/or other plant materials) requiring CITES or other permits for shipment outside the United States carry a non-refundable $250.00 CITES filing fee, plus a $75.00 Phytosanitary permit fee (see below).
Please note that obtaining CITES Export Permits from the USA authorities can take up to 18 months, so if you are ordering plants from outside the USA, you will need to have some patience. Cycads are highly regulated endangered species, and this is something we ask you to consider before you purchase plants, seeds or other regulated materials on our website.
Phytosanitary Permit--Domestic USAThis permit is required for all plant shipments to nearly every location in the United States, if you have a shipping addresse outside of California. It is a requirement of state and county agriculture departments in the states to which we ship, and guarantees that you will receive your plants without risk of quarantine or confiscation.
Phytosanitary Permit--InternationalMost countries outside the USA require a Phtyosanitary Permit, the result of an inspection by our local Agriculture Officials which determines and verifies that the seeds or plants are clean and free of disease.
If you are buying seeds from outside the USA, you may purchase this permit. To comply with necessary regulations, if your country requires a Phtyo, and you have not purchased it online, we will add it to your purchase price when we process your order.
